Core Integrated Studies Program Graduate
As one of only 120 students selected each year for the Core Integrated Studies Program, I had the opportunity to engage in a unique 2.5-year interdisciplinary curriculum built around the theme of human values in a pluralistic culture. The program integrated courses in English, history, philosophy, religious studies, and global languages, encouraging me to make meaningful connections across disciplines and analyze how cultural values evolve over time.
Through this experience, I learned to think critically about ethical, social, and political issues while strengthening my skills in writing, research, and reflective analysis. Co-curricular arts and cultural events further enriched the program, giving me opportunities to connect classroom concepts to real-world experiences.
What I’ve taken away most from Core is the ability to see connections where others see boundaries, to understand how ideas, narratives, and values intersect across time, culture, and discipline. Beyond academics, the program fostered a strong sense of community, allowing me to collaborate closely with peers and develop a deeper appreciation for diverse perspectives.
